Tiruvengadu gradually came to acquire civic amenities by way of roads and by 1955, Pillai found the attraction of his favourite deity Aghoramoorti too powerful to resist. He shifted back to his native village, though he retained the house he had built in Mayavaram. In 1966 Pillai’s 60th Birthday was celebrated in style at his native Tiruvengadu. The invitation was prepared and released by Kuzhikarai Pichayappa Pillai, KN Dandhayuthapani Pillai, Namagiripettai Krishnan and AKC Natarajan.
